The Scared Little Girl/Boy & The Warrior

The sick scared little girl,

who cringed at night,

she never really grew up.

She just hid inside the armor of the Warrior.

When the day was over and the lights went out,

she would curl up and pray that no one ever found her.

Oh, if they ever found her.

they would surely tease and hurt her again.

So she went deeper and deeper,

until she found that she could go no further.

She built up walls to keep herself safely hidden within the warriors armor,

and let the warrior fight to keep people away from her.

The warrior was strong and smart,

no one could come close to the walls.

But, something happened one day,

and the warrior got hurt.

Although they had been hurt before,

this time, they were hurt beyond hope.

As the warrior lay on the ground bleeding,

they cried for the scared little girl,

for they knew she would be found.

The warrior knew they would laugh at her and hurt her again.

The warrior cried so loud that the little girl heard,

and reached out her hand from behind the wall,

she pulled the warrior behind the wall safe from the world,

then she wiped the blood from their head.

Softly the scared little girl said,

"Sleep now great Warrior, the war is over,

you have done all you can, I will be fine."

The girl frightened and in tears stepped out from behind the wall,

not sure of what to do she looked frantically around.

Then she heard the Warrior whisper,

"Be yourself and you'll be fine."

Tears rolled down her face,

as she watched the warrior die.

But the warrior smiled as they watched the girl begin to live.
